WHAT IS FUNDESPLAI
Fundesplai is the brand used to present the Fundació Catalana de l’Esplai and the entities it brings together. It is a non-profit initiative that, for more than 45 years, has worked in favor of children, young people, families and the Third Sector from the educational, social and environmental fields. The global action of Fundesplai in 2017 has reached 248,689 people.

A NEW STRATEGIC FRAMEWORK
In the last four years, Fundesplai has promoted a profound change in organizational culture towards a more horizontal and participatory structure, in order to give better responses to a society with rapidly changing challenges.
FUNDESPLAI WITH CHILDREN
“Encorja’t”, the educational proposal for gender equality and zero violence, has transversally guided the social and educational action of Fundesplai with children. at lunchtime, extracurricular activities, leisure activities, camps and summer camps… Educators have placed the emphasis on this 2017-18 academic year, and will continue to do so in 2018-19, on promoting education in values such as equality, esteem, empathy… that must contribute to a fairer and more egalitarian society.

FUNDESPLAI WITH YOUNG PEOPLE
Leaders in the socio-occupational insertion of young people
Fundesplai have continued to work this 2017-18 for the socio-labor inclusion of young people with initiatives framed in the Youth Guarantee, which is carried out in collaboration with the Servei d’Ocupació de Catalunya and the Cambra de Comerç de Barcelona, in which 400 people have participated in the 19 training processes that have been carried out in 2017.
The young people of the esplais take center stage
The role of young people in esplais plays a growing role and goes beyond the traditional generational shift. More and more are part of the entities, mobilizing to carry out service learning initiatives (environmental improvements, Connecta Jove …) or expressing their vision, for example with the audiovisual creations of the “Edufilms” festival, designed specifically for young people in the esplais
VIII Ibero-American Forum
More than 600 people from 21 Latin American countries participated between 2 and 7 May, in Barcelona and Madrid, in the VIII Ibero-American Forum “Haciendo Política Juntos”, organized by the Liga Iberoamericana, the Secretaria General Iberoamericana (Segib) and Fundesplai. The Forum analysed the challenges facing Ibero-American youth: work, education and participation.
FUNDESPLAI WITH FAMILIES
79 days of maximum intensity summer
“The campaign “Get the Summer right – A summer for everyone!” 2017 began on June 22 and ended on September 10: 79 days of great intensity that were a success, both in terms of participation and quality of the activities. In total, 65,669 participants and 1,221 activities, which included camps, camps, routes, exchanges and family holidays.
Increase in stays in camps by families
Stays in the holiday camps and hostels of Fundesplai allow families to enjoy a few days in natural environments of great beauty (Pyrenees, Guilleries, Montseny, Garraf …) in equipment of the highest quality and at very affordable prices.
Talks and dynamics of parents’ associations and families
The talks and dynamics aimed at families represent spaces for exchange and relationship in a framework of educational reflection. Throughout 2017 we have held talks for families, infant and primary schools aimed at reflecting on the importance of healthy eating, work and emotional education with the participation of professionals such as Ada Parellada, Anna Manso and Juanjo Fernández.
Fundesplai with society and the Third Sector
Strengthen the role of the Third Sector in influencing public policies
“Political advocacy and the third sector”. This was the title of the Annual Conference on Associative Support that, this year, had the collaboration of Fundación Esplai and focused on highlighting the possibilities of the Third Sector both to influence the policies of public and private institutions and to generate a more critical and mobilized citizenship.
New certificates of professionalism
The 2017-18 academic year has been marked by the implementation of new training actions for teachers and the incorporation of new certificates of professionalism. Regarding the first aspect, the Fundesplai Training Center organized a meeting of the faculty of trainers and several workshops specialized in ICT tools or gender equality, the latter linked to the educational proposal “EnCORatja’t”.
Advice to the territory and new services
In 2017 and 2018 Suport Associatiu has managed face-to-face advisory services to Third Sector entities from different municipalities, specifically in Barcelona (Torre Jussana), El Prat de Llobregat (Cases d’en Puig), Martorell (El Círcol), Santa Coloma (Attention Office to entities), Tiana (Advice on cultural entities) and Badalona (City Council and IMPO).
10 years of Centre Esplai
Centre Esplai, the headquarters of Fundesplai in the neighborhood of Sant Cosme (El Prat de Llobregat), celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2017 with an exhibition and a solidarity dinner that served to raise funds for “Prenem partir per la infància”, the scholarship campaign for children.
