On Friday, May 22, CENTRE ESPLAI, the headquarters of Fundesplai, hosted the presentation of the book “Culture, values and ethics”, by Salvador Carrasco, Professor of Sociology and member of the Board of Fundesplai. In the presentation, Salvador Carrasco highlighted that the document wants to “provoke” a reflection on the task of education in values.
“Culture, values and ethics” It is the result of a work of collective reflection, based on documents that have been worked on and debated in various instances of Fundesplai (Fundació Catalana de l’Esplai) and which deals with different aspects. During the presentation, Salvador Carrasco cited some: the need to contrast the ethical statements of organizations with reality or the importance of the work of monitors as transmitters of values to children and young people, among others.
As stated in the introduction, this book wants to share the reflection on culture, values and ethical criteria that should frame and base the educational and social task that all of us who are part of Fundesplai develop. And it wants to be done dynamically, with the participation of the maximum number of people. For this reason, it is claimed that it is a document open to new contributions and new suggestions.
