Gabriel Souza, deputy governor of the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul, visited the headquarters of Fundesplai in El Prat de Llobregat last Friday, June 9, 2023 where he could see the educational and social initiatives promoted by the organization and explore possible ways of collaboration. Josep Gassó, Anna Romeu and Cristina Rodriguez, president, videopresident and general director of Fundesplai, and other representatives of the entity shared with Souza and her team the work for the inclusion of young people that Fundesplai is developing through the Demà Jove, which offers training, employment and support to nearly 300 young people. The visit was also attended by Adair Meira, founder of Renapsi, and Renata Miceli, from the Pro-Cerrado Foundation and member of the board of trustees of Fundesplai.
TheDemà Jove is promoted by Fundesplai with the collaboration of the Brazilian organization Renapsi, which started the program in its country, and is funded by the Public Employment Service of Catalonia. During his stay at Fundesplai, Souza was able to visit and chat with a group of young participants in the initiative who are training and working as cooks.
The deputy governor was also able to learn about the history and current impact of the entity and visit the exhibition “Menja. Actua. Impacta”, on sustainable and healthy food.
Rio Grande do Sul is the ninth largest state in Brazil and has more than 11 million inhabitants.
