Planting in the dune space
ENVIRONMENTAL VOLUNTEERING ACTION SOM NATURA
Come and participate in an environmental volunteer day at Platja del Fòrum (Barcelona) to recover the coastal dune ecosystem. Dunes are an essential natural barrier against erosion and climate change, but they are fragile spaces that need the care and involvement of citizens to be preserved.
This is a session of cleaning and removal of solid waste and invasive vegetation to improve the environment of the dunes in the area. We will also take the opportunity to plant new species native to dune and saline environments to regenerate the natural ecosystem of that area. This practice helps to fix the sand and promote the biodiversity of coastal ecosystems.
Thanks to our environmental education team you will learn how this habitat works, what species live there and how small collective gestures protect the Barcelona coastline. It will be a relaxing, fun and very enriching day!
