Pedagogical principles

Our model of leisure education is based on education for coexistence and sustainability. These two backbones, our values and mission, define all our actions and projects. In parallel, our pedagogical principles are organized around the 4 educational pillars defined by Jacques Delors in the report he wrote for UNESCO in 1996: learning to know, learning to live together, learning to do and learning to be.

And based on these 4 pillars of education, we educate throughout life, implementing our actions and programs in the different stages of life.

Our educational practice is characterized by “The 3A’s”: welcome, accompaniment and personal autonomy.

We provide personalized accompaniment, placing the children and young people at the center of the educational action.

We start with active participation, fun and enthusiasm and apply different methodologies such as games, learning and service, coeducation or environmental and emotional education in order to promote the development of transversal competencies and different personal and collective skills.

The 7 competencies in educational leisure time

In educational leisure activities, children and young people develop 7 transversal competencies (following the model defined by UNESCO, 2018):
(1) Lifelong learning, (2) Self-management, (3) Interactive use of tools and resources, (4) Pre-registration with others, (5) Pre-registration with the world, (6) Trans-disciplinarity, (7) Multi-literacy.

Desde Fundesplai contribuimos a alcanzar los ODS (Objetivos del Desarrollo Sostenible) con todas nuestras acciones y proyectos. Desde nuestra labor educativa en esplais, escuelas y casas de colonias, hasta la formación, el acompañamiento a las entidades y la apuesta por la sostenibilidad y la convivencia.
