From December 1, 2024, Balance will begin a participatory, artistic and training process for teenagers to become active agents in promoting emotional well-being and mental health. It is being developed in Catalonia and Coimbra, Portugal, in collaboration with Càritas Coimbra, the Intermunicipality of Coimbra and the Ajuda i Esperança Foundation. This project is co-financed by the European Commission through the Citizenship, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) programme and will run from 2024 to 2026.
Balance promotes the training and empowerment of young people between 13 and 18 years old to become active agents in the defense of mental health and emotional well-being. To achieve this, training sessions, theater workshops and participatory processes will be carried out, culminating in the celebration of the Iberian Festival for Mental Health. BALANCE will involve more than 450 adolescents, educators and families from Catalonia and the Portuguese region of Coimbra until the end of 2026.
