From Fundesplai we have developed the guide ‘Citizen science and nature: a challenge for education for sustainability‘ commissioned by the Department of Climate Action, Food and Rural Agenda of the Generalitat.
This guide, aimed at schools, puts the conservation of biodiversity as a central axis of work and wants to bring this scientific and citizen practice closer to children and young people throughout the territory.
The document is based on one’s own experiences, an important section of the guide, in order to provide significant learning linked to the curriculum, working on structuring, promoting the active participation of children and young people, or reviewing educational methodologies.
In summary, this guide deals with the potential and educational impact of citizen science projects with the intention of discovering and knowing nature. In this line, we want to empower, motivate and engage younger people in the protection of biodiversity.
