Fundesplai joined the Mentoring Coordinator for inclusion on April 17 with its initiatives Tresca Jove, Tresca Europe and AMA (Accompaniment of Adolescent Mothers). The Coordinator of Mentoring for Inclusion, born in 2012, in addition to the Fundesplai programs, she also added others to the event on 17: EnTàndem (AFEV Barcelona) and Projecte Rossinyol Tarragona (Associació Quilòmetre zero).
The event, at the headquarters of the network (Sant Antoni Abat 10 3r, Barcelona), it included, among others, the presentation of the projects promoting this network of social mentoring projects – Referents, Coach and Nightingale – and the presentation of the three initiatives that were incorporated; going on to add a total of 12 projects that are part of it.
In 2014, participation in mentoring projects that are part of the Mentoring for Inclusion Coordinator grew by 58% in Catalonia, reaching 362 new social mentoring couples. With the incorporation of the new projects, the Coordinadora estimates that this figure will double throughout 2015, reaching more than 700 mentoring pairs, that is, 700 volunteer mentors and 700 children, young people and adults at risk of social exclusion.
