Fundesplai has launched YouthOpportunity, an initiative that is subsidized by the Public Employment Service of Catalonia and the European Social Fund within the framework of the Youth Employment Initiative, in accordance with the Comprehensive Youth Guarantee Programs”, regulated by Order EMO/319/2015″. This project aims to accompany young people in situations of vulnerability or social risk, so that they can go through a comprehensive training process that will allow them to enjoy training, educational and labor inclusion opportunities.
Fundesplai offers unemployed young women from18 to 29 years old and registered in the SOC, a process of guidance, training and acquisition of competences, skills and professional experiences that allows them to build a professional and/or life itinerary successfully.
The Youth Opportunity project has three distinct stages: reception and orientation where a personalized itinerary for young people is being worked on in a group and individual way. A second stage where the itinerary designed through specific training will be executed where each young person will participate. And a third stage, which will work for the inclusion and labor insertion of the young participants.
Guide each young person in a personalized way
After a network carried out with the different collaborating and involved agents of the territories (social services, promoters of youth guarantee, City Councils, etc.) of the Barcelonès, Baix Llobregat and Bages, and with the previous referral of young people to the project, at this moment the project is in its first phase of information, orientation and design of the roadmap of each young person.
It should be noted that 11 informative meetings have been held in different locations (El Prat, L’Hospitalet and Cornellà de Llobregat, Manresa), and an answer and informative reception has been given to approximately 600 young people interested in the Youth Opportunity project, who have reached them through one of the open access channels (social networks, publications, information brochures, etc.) or derived by the different collaborating agents.
One of the young people in F.R. comments when contacting the project coordinators that he finds the name “Youth Opportunity” “very appropriate”, because he believes that if he participates in this and the training offered, it will mean “a before and after for him”.
Certificates of professionalism
In the project we propose training itineraries of certificates of professionalism diversified in four areas, from March to July. These are: Basic restaurant bar operations, basic kitchen operations, auxiliary operations of administrative and general services, and dynamization of educational leisure activities for children and young people. All training includes an internship in companies or entities in each productive sector. After this training stage, we will work with young people on their inclusion in the world of work, giving them support and accompaniment in the search for work activity.
The success of the Youth Opportunity project lies in the accompaniment, support, involvement, active listening, etc., by the team of professionals who work for and with the young participants of the project, in order to respond to all those aspects, needs, interests, problems, ideas, etc., that they may have and / or arise throughout their experiential stay in the project.
