Fundesplai (Fundació Catalana de l’Esplai), as promoter and coordinator of the Youth Rights Week, has articulated the preparation of this initiative in Catalonia around three Youth Motor Groups: Youth ERASMUS PLUS, Youth of Prat de Llobregat, Youth of Barcelona. The Week will take place between November 23 and 30 at CENTRE ESPLAI and will focus on the labor market, culture and interculturality.
These motor groups are the ones that are preparing the Youth Rights Week 2014, which will take place at CENTRE ESPLAI on the following dates:
- International Youth, participants in the Erasmus Plus Exchange: from 23 to 30 November.
- Young people associated with or linked to entities in Catalonia, the State in general, from 28 to 30 November.
The three main axes on which the conferences and workshops will revolve are the problems of the labor market, career guidance and unemployment; creativity and culture; and intercultural/intergenerational eeducation, and lifelong learning.
The starting point in July
The implementation of the entire participatory process began in July at the International Preparatory Meeting that took place at CENTRE ESPLAI, with young people and referents from 4 countries (France, Italy, Portugal and Catalonia). From here, the 4 countries involved in the project are beginning to articulate participatory work with young people in different ways, both in their territories and in social networks.
The three motor groups of young people mentioned, which energizes the Youth, International and Social Area of Fundesplai, they have already had their first meetings during the first half of October and are made up of young people from the Tresca Jove (Fundesplai) and Tresca Europe (Fundación Esplai) project. young people from Esplai Fontsanta-Fatjó (Cornellà de Llobregat), young people from Casal Jove Atlas (Barcelona), young people from CRAC Youth Nurseries (Barcelona)… And the possibility of adding more entities is still open. The young people involved have different assignments linked to the development of activities during the SPDJ 2014, as well as being a relational space, individual and collective growth, leadership and learning, linked to the three main axes of the Week.
All the Youth Motor Groups are articulated with a pedagogical project that is concretized in promoting the knowledge of the young people of the three axes; connect and specify with young people the direct link of the three axes with their youth reality, promote the cohesion of the groups and generate new synergies and proposals to grow the activities of the SPDJ 2014.
Young people are committed and involved with the SPDJ 2014. This year more reinforced than in previous editions, where we expect the participation of more than 200 young people.
