The Juan José Ortiz School (Sant Andreu de la Barca) has hosted the Fundesplai Summer Camp Festival where nearly 400 children from different summer camps of Fundesplai del Baix Llobregat and Barcelona have participated, who have carried out activities around the summer campaign “Let’s make a better world possible!”, which seeks that girls and boys know better the Sustainable Development Goals.
During the morning the children have participated in 16 different activities of a playful and educational nature. Many of these have revolved around aspects related to sustainability such as the production of animals with recycled materials, the manufacture of bird feeders that in summer have difficulty finding food, the race of boats made with corks and driven by the children themselves or tic-tac-toe also with elements such as sticks and wool. There have also been fully recreational activities such as a circuit from cars to pedals, bicycle circuit, interactive games or dance.
Raise awareness about water use
Given the current drought situation, some of the water activities have been adapted and it has been used to sensitize children about their rational use and avoid waste.
At the end of the morning, the children will hang paper flowers on the school door that they will have made in one of the workshops to reflect their desire to “Make a better world possible!”. The Festa dels Casals ended with a performance by the children’s entertainment group Set de so.
