The day on Sunday in Madrid began with a batukada by the Batuxidando group, a choreography on personal improvement, by the group Smile Crew and a parade of more than 150 young people from different territories participating in the projects of our entity.

This group of young people was in charge of energizing, throughout the morning, the workshops and activities aimed at the citizens of Madrid, including: a programming workshop and another robotics workshop for young people, boys and girls; activities on health education and education in values, aimed above all at young people; A workshop in which young people taught the use of state-of-the-art mobile phones to the elderly, etc.

The Foro Ciudadanía Comprometida is the main annual event of the Fundación Esplai and with it they showed the work we do mobilizing young people who are committed to the society in which they live.

On Saturday, the young people had an internal day of meetings, meetings and work in which they shared experiences and knowledge and were able to prepare the new course of activities that they will develop throughout the year in their territories.

Recognition of volunteering

At the end of Sunday morning, the awards ceremony took place in the Auditorium of the Casa del Lector. In the words of Núria Valls, general director of Fundació Esplai and host of the event: “This year we wanted to unite in the closing ceremony of the Forum the delivery of three different calls for awards organized by our entity and, in this way, make an intergenerational event that appreciates and recognizes the work carried out by both young people and adults for the benefit of the society in which they live”.

Enrique Arnanz, president of the Foundation, closed the event by asking for a wish: “May the spirit that had been lived in this Foro16 be spread throughout the year” and gave way to two young people who read, on behalf of the more than 150 participants, the Manifesto “Committed Youth”, prepared by them to join the demands of October 17, International Day for the Eradication of Poverty.
