Imma Mayol, general director of the Esplai Foundation, and María Bruno, head of the Social Area of the Foundation, attended last Thursday, March 20, the award ceremony of the social aids granted by the Mutua Madrileña Foundation to NGO social projects.
The award ceremony was presided over by the Minister of Health and Social Affairs, Ana Mato, and the president of the Mutua Madrileña Foundation, Ignacio Garralda. Fundación Mutua Madrileña awarded one of its grants to the social and labor insertion program Tresca within its “II Annual Call for Grants for SOCIAL ACTION 2014”.
New editions of Tresca already underway!
Last Thursday, March 13, the new edition of Tresca Europe was presented at the Esplai Bellvitge Club, with the collaboration of Stavros Niarchos Foundation. The inaugural event was attended by more than 100 young people from different municipalities: Castelldefels, Terrassa, Gavà, el Hospitalet de Llobregat, Barcelona and Cornellà de Llobregat, young people who are motivated to learn and to open themselves to new forms of training and with one idea in mind: “to make their way into the world of leisure and esplai”.
The Tresca Europe project consists of the transfer of the program of social and labor inclusion of young people.
Tresca Jove that until now has been developed by the
Fundació Catalana del Esplai in Catalonia to social entities in Spain, Portugal and Italy and will involve the participation of 350 young people. A total of 50 young people will begin training in Portugal during the month of April with the
Fundaçao Da Joventude as organizer.
In addition, on Wednesday 19 was launched another edition of Tresca Jove was presented at Centro Cultural La Creueta (Hospitalet de Llobregat), in this case is possible thanks to the collaboration of: Ministry of Health, Social Affairs and Equality, Mutua Madrileña and Obra Social La Caixa. More than 100 young people from Sant Joan Despí, Sant Boi de Llobregat, Gavà, Esplugues de Llobregat, Hospitalet de Llobregat, El Prat de Llobregat, Cornellà de Llobregat and Mataró, were attentive to the technical explanations regarding the objectives of the project, schedules, meaning and sense of mentoring, etc. During their turn to speak, the young people asked about training schedules, places of implementation and other questions related to the internship process.
In both presentations, young people from previous editions of Tresca participated explaining their personal process, highlighting the most positive aspects of their experience; the emotional experience in the practices in the breaks or the great satisfaction of being able to make a pleasant training, with group and dynamic activities, meeting other young people like them, far from their idea of training in the classroom boring and without incentive.
Tresca also in Mataró!
In addition, on Monday, March 24 a new edition of the
Tresca which will take place in the capital of Maresme, in Mataró, with the support of the Ministry of Health, Social Affairs and Equality, Mutua Madrileña and Obra Social La Caixa, with the collaboration of the City Council of Mataró, and with the participation of 45 young people.
The proposal has been very well received in the city. This is not the first edition that young people from Mataró will have the opportunity to carry out the project, as in previous editions young people from the city had participated in the project, but now they will be able to do it in their own city. The trainings (individual interviews between young candidates to the project and technical persons of the project), and the training are carried out at the premises of the
Enlleura’t Association in the neighborhood of La Llàntia in Mataró.
The success of the Tresca Jove program, which the Foundation started in 2010 and which has involved 205 young people from 17 municipalities in the province of Barcelona, is endorsed by the excellent results obtained in the social inclusion of the young participants.
In the last completed edition of the Tresca Jove project, 27% of the young participants have been linked voluntarily to educational and social organizations in the territory, 20% have joined the labor market, and 16% have resumed their training process.
