L’Esplai Macedònia in Castelldefels, a leisure service for people with intellectual disabilities, is in luck. The leisure department of Fundesplai has been managing this municipal service for more than five years, promoting leisure for all, based on inclusive education.
From Monday to Saturday and during vacation periods, the educational team of the service ensures to offer, share and accompany leisure alternatives in the close environment of the participants, creating opportunities to include all people in the different spaces and environments, accompanying and promoting autonomy that goes far beyond the label ‘disability’.
This year, Esplai Macedònia has been nominated for the City of Castelldefels Awards, in the category of Promotion of Social and Civic Values 2023. From among all the entities and people who were proposed in this category, three finalists have been chosen, among which is the esplai.
The process of awarding the prizes is carried out through a participatory vote through the Castelldefels City Council website. In this sense, if you are registered in Castelldefels, you can give your vote to the esplai.
This nomination is the culmination of the work carried out by the esplai, a recognition and visibility of the leisure and leisure space that young people with disabilities need.
