The Plataforma d’Infància de Catalunya (PINCat) held a meeting on November 25 to choose a new coordination of the entity and the candidacy presented by Fundesplai and composed of José Antonio Ruiz as candidate and Susagna Escardíbul, as alternate, was unanimously chosen.
The PINCat was created in February 2011 with the aim of being a common and transversal voice of all entities committed to children and adolescents in our country, which offers a comprehensive vision of childhood, responds to their needs, promotes the fulfillment of their rights and duties and ensures the incorporation of the perspective of childhood in public policies and in Catalan society.
Jose Antonio Ruiz replaces Anna Suñer from FEPA (Federación de Entidades con Proyectos y Pisos Asistidos) who has been developing the position for 6 years and who will continue as co-coordinator. Ruiz is Director of Relations and Participation of Fundesplai, training educational psychology, teacher and social educator. She has worked in the field of free-time education for children and young people at risk of exclusion, teacher and collaborator in various training centers and universities in matters of children in social difficulty, and participation with children.
