In his 3rd institutional statement in relation to Covid-19, Josep Gassó, President of Fundesplai, informs about the progressive return to face-to-face activity of workers and about the summer campaign which, this year, will be especially important. In addition, four people in charge of Fundesplai’s summer campaign explain how the activities will be developed.
Josep Gassó emphasizes that the joint work of everyone has made it possible to maintain the commitments that the organization acquired at the beginning of the crisis.
The president of Fundesplai announces four good news: the gradual resumption of on-site work activity at the headquarters of Centro Esplai (El Prat de Llobregat) since June 2; the gradual reinstatement of workers who were affected by an ERTO and the continuity of the guarantee of 100% of the salary to those who are still in ERTO.
Finally, Gassó emphasizes that Fundesplai has everything ready to start the most important summer campaign for children, youth and families. The campaign will be carried out ensuring maximum health safety and the naturalness of the activities. In the video, Gassó echoes recent media reports where doctors are explaining that the virus has little or almost no transmission among children and young people.
The campaign, which will be organized jointly with monitors, AMPAS and esplais, will have as main objectives to appease the emotional effects of the pandemic on children and young people and ensure maximum equity.

Fundesplai is working to adapt all summer activity spaces to the new regulations related to Covid-19, so that we turn them into safe spaces and restricted only to the people who must develop the activity, both monitors and participants. Activities: emotionally welcoming children and young people
Carles Xifra, Director of Innovation and Contents of Fundesplai, tells in the video that Fundesplai is preparing and adapting the leisure education activities of the camps and summer camps in order to emotionally welcome these children, who after these intense experiences they have lived in confinement will need to channel the anxieties and fears towards bonds with others from diversity, reconnect with nature and work on solidarity.
Monitors: we are ready for the best summer ever!
During these months, monitors have been with children and families, proposing activities to liven up moments of uncertainty and maintain the bond with the group, thus demonstrating their commitment. Asun Gil, Head of the Leisure Department of Fundesplai, points out in the video that now thousands of monitors in the esplais, in the schools and in the leisure projects of Fundesplai, are being trained to make possible the challenge of a summer more necessary than ever.
