The Department of Equality and Feminism of the Generalitat will offer through Fundesplai care services to children and adolescents in Ukraine, within the framework of the Temps x Cures program. The objective is to guarantee the right to care for these displaced people in Catalonia, who are mostly women with children in their care.
The first phase that Fundesplai is deploying is the diagnosis to detect the specific needs that must be addressed and the mapping of the resources available in the territory. In this way, it wants to ensure an efficient offer of care services adapted to the needs of these people.
The plan is to offer four care services:
- Playful care in emergency accommodation devices.
- Provision of one-off babysitting services to support displaced families.
- Offer of other itinerant babysitting services, according to the needs of each moment.
- Punctual support at home for emergency situations.
In addition, we work so that children and young people can participate these holidays in summer camps, camps and camps. In this sense, the Department plans to incorporate Ukrainian personnel in the services of municipalities where there is a significant volume of these children and adolescents.
The programme is also expected to provide up to 120 adults from the war in Ukraine with training to obtain the title of leisure monitor. It is a measure to promote their insertion into the workplace.
Núria Vergés, general director of Care, Time Organization and Equity in Work, has stated that “as a result of the war, we have received thousands of children and adolescents in Catalonia, who have lived traumatic situations and that we must be able to accompany with the resources and care services we have in the country”. Vergés also added that “the Temps x Cures program advances in the right to care and the right to time and, in the case of people displaced by the war in Ukraine, this time is key for their recovery, their socialization, the realization of procedures and procedures, and their possible incorporation into the world of work”.
