Coinciding with the date on which the traditional Festa Esplai would normally be celebrated and due to the limitations established by Procicat, this year Fundesplai has held an online concert by the children’s animation group The Penguins, with the show Reggae per Xics.
The show took place on Saturday, May 8, 2021 from the garden of CENTRE ESPLAI in front of a number of 20 children from the same esplai and that could also be followed live by streaming. The concert has been a real party that has served to close the course of the esplais and the schools and kick off the campaign of summer activities. You can catch The Penguins concert here!

This event was the final test of the virtual gymkhana Festive passport. It is a virtual gymkhana that is being followed by children and families of leisure centers, schools and other educational spaces where Fundesplai is present. This activity has been a virtual journey around the world through a series of tests and was divided into 5 parts that correspond to 5 of the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations: people, prosperity, planet, peace and partnership. To access the concert you had to pass 4 tests, which allowed access to the Festive passportthat gave access to the 5th test that we all did together in the concert!
Closure of the course and start of summer activities
The gymkhana and the concert have served as a fun event for the next closing of the school year and the start of the summer activities campaign. A campaign that precisely the day before the entity had presented to the communication mitans and where the more than 1,300 rounds of colonies, centers, camps, work camps and family camps that Fundesplai will organize and the more than 68,000 places planned stood out.
This year, the summer campaign of Fundesplai has the motto “Let’s make a better world possible”, since all activities will have as a thematic axis the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Thus, camps on the SDGs will be organized; environmental volunteer work camps, three of them in collaboration with El Periódico; campus of Journalism with the newspaper ARA; a marine science campus, in collaboration with the CRAM Foundation; and a collective action to make a better world on July 22.
A summer for everyone!
In addition, Fundesplai continues to promote the campaign “A summer for everyone!”, to raise funds and award scholarships to families who are in a situation of vulnerability so that their children can go to summer activities.
The impact of the health and economic crisis suggests that this year the needs may be much greater and that society must be mobilized to guarantee equal opportunities for children in terms of enjoying their right to leisure.
For this reason from Fundesplai we call on individuals, entities, companies and administrations to collaborate in the solidarity campaign “A summer for everyone” through thewww.fundesplai.org website .
