This Friday, March 7, CENTRO ESPLAI, the headquarters of the Fundació Catalana del Esplai, hosted the closing ceremony of the “Conecta Joven” (Connect Youth) in El Prat promoted by the Foundation and with the support of the City Council of El Prat.

This Friday, March 7, CENTRO ESPLAI, the headquarters of the Fundació Catalana del Esplai, hosted the closing ceremony of the “Conecta Joven” (Connect Youth) in El Prat, the intergenerational apprenticeship program promoted by the Foundation and supported by the City Council of El Prat.
In the “Conecta Joven” in El Prat have participated 23 students of 4th of ESO of the schools. Ribera Baixa high schools, Estany de la Ricarda, the Instituto Escuela del Prat and the Sant Cosme Children’s Group who, in a first phase, have been trained in communication and social skills and, in a second phase, have become volunteer computer teachers for adults at risk of suffering the digital divide.
The closing ceremony was attended by, among others, the following speakers Pilar Eslava, Deputy Mayor for Culture, Education and Citizenship and Councilor for Education of the City Council of El Prat de Llobregat, and of Carles Barba, vice-president of the Fundació Catalana del Esplai, as well as young people, adults and facilitators of the “Conecta Joven” and educators of the participating institutes. Eslava emphasized the community nature of the program and Barba highlighted the educational importance of this experience for young people.
On this day it has been possible to listen to the voice of the participants in the “Conecta Joven” in El Prat, in addition to handing out diplomas to both young people and adults.
The project has also been carried out in collaboration with the Centro de Formación de Per-sones Adultes Terra Baixa, the Centro de Promoción Social Francesc Palau and the Grupo Infantil Sant Cosme.
Conecta Joven” is a nationwide program promoted by the Esplai Foundation since 2006 with the support of Microsoft, the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality, different local public administrations and social organizations.
