Launch community-based socio-educational initiatives promoted by committed groups of young people, help them to be protagonists of social change and strengthen networking with other entities. These are the objectives of the project “Jo_Ven! DiSueña y Construye tu Comunidad” promoted by Fundación Esplai and in which young people from different territories have participated, who these days are in a work camp to train and share experiences.
Through “Jo_Ven!”, Fundación Esplai launched an open call for groups of young people from different territories to present their community improvement projects. Subsequently, five were selected: “Club d’Esplai” from CE Son Oliva (Palma, Mallorca), “Jóvenes Monitores del Molinar” from Esplai Molinar (Palma, Mallorca), “Esplai Motor Cultural” from IES Serra d’Almenara (Lorca, Murcia), manga show “Akibacon” by a group of young people from the town of San Andrés y Sauces (El Palmal) and “El sac de les idees” by young people from the cultural center of Villanueva de Algaidas (Malaga).
Share experiences and train
The 17 young people who are members of the chosen groups have participated from July 19 to 31 in a work camp, where, in addition to sharing experiences in some coexistences, they are trained to carry out their project. Finally, after the work camp, the young participants have returned to their communities, where, with the support of Fundació Esplai, they will launch their initiatives.
Support from “la Caixa” Foundation
On the other hand, last Friday, July 18, the Esplai Foundation and the “la Caixa” Foundation signed an agreement through which the “la Caixa” Foundation provides financial support to this project for 2014/2015. The agreement was signed by Francesc Xavier Sans, Director of Institutional Banking at “la Caixa”, and Imma Mayol, Director General of the Esplai Foundation.
