During the meeting, Josep Gassó highlighted that Fundesplai has been collaborating with entities in Brazil for more than five years in the field of youth inclusion because they provide an innovative experience in Europe such as the combination of training and work at the same time.
Councillor Violant Cervera particularly appreciated the initiative presented and highlighted the shared challenge: “it is social entities that can transmit their experience on the ground to the administration, and this project is an example for everyone to follow”, she said.
Afterwards, the delegation also met with the Director General of the Catalan Employment Service (SOC), Juan Torres, with the aim of reflecting on the need to promote a dual training program in Catalonia to combat the high rates of youth unemployment in our country.
In addition to the meetings with the administrations, during their stay in Catalonia the Brazilian delegation was able to learn about different initiatives such as the Young Value program of Fundesplai and the Tresca Jove that has been developed in Gavà for six years between the town council and Fundesplai and that promotes the insertion of young people through training in educational leisure.
