To commemorate the Universal Day of the Rights of the Child, Fundesplai and the Federació Catalana de l’Esplai promote the camapanya pel #DretalLleure.
Next Tuesday, November 20, 2018 is the Universal Day of the Rights of the Child. To commemorate this date, Fundesplai and the Federació Catalana de l’Esplai promote camapanya for the #DretalLleure.

Fundesplai has been promoting this campaign since 2014 and thousands of children and young people from the schools and esplais where the entity is present participate every year. In addition, within the general framework of the demand for the right to leisure, each edition expands its focus to raise awareness about other children’s rights. This 2018 will be the Right to non-discrimination (art. 2) and the Right to educate oneself towards a culture of peace (art.29), framed in the work that is being carried out with the educational proposal “Encourage yourself”, for gender equality and zero violence.
Be encouraged by diversity
Thus, this year both on Tuesday, November 20 and the days that surround it, many schools and esplais will be taking actions to claim these rights.
Once again, it will be a very important day in all the schools where we manage the Midday Time. The teams will begin to propose and work on recreational activities during the five days prior to the 20N with the aim of: publicizing the EnCORatja’t proposal and influencing and claiming the Right to non-discrimination and the Right to educate oneself towards a culture of peace. We also want to give visibility to the uniqueness of all people by promoting the right to difference and gender, affective and sexual diversity.
Children from 3 to 8 years old will work from the stories: Boys and girls, Now my name is Joana, With Tango we are three, a world of families… and those from 9 to 12 will concentrate their protest activity, with previous preparation dynamics, and ending with a great gymkhana with Photocall, memory, Twister, Family game, which will end up in some cases, painting a bench with the LGBTI flag.
In the esplais it is proposed to carry out activities with children and young people and the development of a protest action in the street on November 20 or in the days close to that date.
The action will consist of asking for collaboration from city councils to cut off a street in the city and play games with children, families and the community. Games to raise awareness about the right to difference. Also, during the event, we want to paint some space of public furniture (preferably a bench) with the LGTBI flag, symbol that represents our claim on such a special day. We will end the action with the reading of a Collective manifesto.
