Field recovery and conservation of birds of prey
ENVIRONMENTAL VOLUNTEERING ACTION SOM NATURA
Are you a nature lover? Do you like to care for and protect it? Come and enjoy a day of environmental volunteering in Osona that combines the recovery of abandoned fields with habitat improvement actions for birds of prey. These birds are indicators of environmental health and depend on traditional open spaces.
Following the instructions of the Fundesplai environmental education team, we will work on improving the territory so that it is once again suitable for fauna, helping to preserve protected species. The session includes actions to recover meadows, extensive crop fields and agricultural mosaics that are being covered by the advance of the forest: removal of invasive vegetation, cleaning of spaces, maintenance of wastelands and fallows, clearing of abandoned areas…
A strategic action designed to conserve heritage and recover a landscape necessary for the survival of birds of prey. To facilitate their nesting, we will also carry out actions to maintain existing nests. At the same time, we will monitor species of flora and fauna and improve information to make more informed decisions in forest management as a society. Did you know that in the area of the Les Guilleries Natural Park you can see species such as vultures, the common kestrel, the kestrel, the golden eagle, the bearded vulture and the peregrine falcon. If you are passionate about biology and the natural environment, we are waiting for you!
