The European project Domitia, which aims to address the training needs of leisure time educators in relation to pedagogical and social challenges and trends, was launched on November 7 and 8 with a kick-off meeting.

Funded by the European Commission through the Erasmus Plus program, Domitia is led by Fundesplai and involves the participation of two social and educational entities from France (Union Régional des Francas d’Occitanie) and Italy (Cooperativa Sociale Folias).

The first meeting of the project included a visit from the partner entities, allowing them to understand the contexts of each territory and share the work done by Fundesplai in training, leisure education, and environmental education, as well as the work of the Catalan Federation of Esplai and the associated leisure time centres. A visit to Esplai Pubilla Cases-Can Vidalet provided partners with firsthand insight into the impact of these activities.

During the next 24 months, the partners will learn from the practices that are carried out in the different countries and will develop a training itinerary for complementary training for leisure monitors, which will include their active participation.
