How can we minimize the impacts of school feeding and contribute to a fairer and more sustainable food system? We will explain it on April 28 in this online conference.

If we want to create a more sustainable food system, school canteens are an excellent starting point. In this day, we will see how different countries and realities are responding to shared challenges in school meals programs, such as reducing waste, reducing the consumption of animal proteins and increasing the consumption of fresh and local food.
The first part of the event will be based on the presentations of the experts Donald Bundy, general director Global Research Consortium for School Health and Nutrition; Geraldine Gilbert, representative (principal strategist) of the Forum For the Future; and Cecilia Rocha, member of the International Panel of Experts on Sustainable Food Systems.
The round table “Local perspectives for global challenges” will draw conclusions from the day with the interventions of Gemma Salvador, representative of the Public Health Agency of Catalonia, (ASPCAT), and Lidón Martrat, operational coordinator of Barcelona World Capital of Sustainable Food 2021. The round table will be moderated by Susagna Escardíbul Tejeira, from Fundesplai.
The event will be online and can be followed in Catalan and English (simultaneous interpreting). A space will be reserved for public participation.
