At the end of the Franco regime, on the initiative of groups of young people, summer camps began to be organized and leisure centers were established in Hospitalet and several cities of the Baix Llobregat. The Bellvitge Youth Children’s Club (Hospitalet, 1969), the Esplai Ara Mateix (Sant Just, 1969), the Mowgli (Cornellà, 1971), the Esplai Can Serra (Hospitalet, 1971), the GISC (El Prat, 1973), the Sanfeliu Youth Children’s Club (Hospitalet, 1975) and many other esplais were created.
