The event was attended by relevant authorities from the different areas in which the program impacts.

Fundesplai has presented the “Demà Jove” program which aims to insert young people who are unemployed and/or have little or no training into the labor market. This initiative combines learning, personalized support and an employment contract from day one. This action is promoted and subsidized by the Public Employment Service of Catalonia (SOC)

The presentation ceremony was attended by a wide representation of institutions and social organizations, which corresponds to the broad social impact of the proposal. Josep Gassó, president of Fundesplai that leads the program in Catalonia, highlighted the values of the initiative: “It is important that young people can work and train, but above all they must recover hope to make a better world”; among the institutional speakers, Carles Campuzano, Minister of the Department of Social Rights of the Generalitat, remarked that Fundesplai gives power and voice to young people through projects such as “Demà Jove. ” It is necessary to build alliances to meet the challenge of incorporating young people into the labor market”, he concluded; Esther Maria Perez, Deputy Director General of Inclusion Policies of the Ministry of Inclusion, for her part, highlighted the importance of public policies in the fight against exclusion and extreme poverty; Enric Vinaixa, Secretary of Labour of the Department of Enterprise and Labour of the Generalitat de Catalunya, said: “The Dual FPO is an absolute commitment of the Government of the Generalitat because it is a backbone of the country”; Silvia Miró, Director of the Work Area of Pimec, has emphasized the relationship between work and education: “The labor market evolves very fast and educational skills do not adapt at the same time and these initiatives are fundamental to change this paradigm.”

The young protagonists of the presentation of the program

Young people played a leading role in the presentation of “Demà Jove”. Maria Guerrini and Miquel Àngel Múñoz spoke on behalf of the 300 participants of the “Demà Jove” program in Catalonia. Muñoz said: “Thanks to this project many of us can move forward with our ideas and dreams”. For his part, Guerrini referred to the educators who accompany them: “They have made us feel very comfortable”.

Allana Ferreira and João Gonçalves did it on behalf of young Brazilians who are already training and working in the “Demà Jove” in Brazil. Ferrereira commented: “The support of my family and the company has been essential for me”. “Thanks to my salary, the economy of my home has been transformed”, concluded Gonçalves.

A programme with a European vocation

Since 2020 and thanks to ERASMUS+ funding, Fundesplai has led a project to evaluate the methodology of the “Youth Tomorrow” program based on the reality of the partner countries: Italy, Portugal, Romania, Sweden and Holland. The University of Barcelona has also participated in the European project, contributing to this analysis and the subsequent conclusions.

A delegation from the project traveled to Brussels where on Wednesday, November 16, they presented the “Demà Jove” project on a European scale. On Thursday 17 November, the same delegation presented the conclusions of the aforementioned ERASMUS+ to the European Parliament.
