Over the next few weeks, thousands of children and young people will enjoy an unforgettable summer with new classmates and monitors with whom they will do a lot of activities.
With the end of the school year, thousands of children and young people began their summer holidays and with them the summer activities also began. In the last week of June, several coaches throughout Catalonia left to take children to camps facilities or to the mountains to enjoy some very special days. And, in fact, that will be the constant for the next few weeks.
Throughout the summer Fundesplai will carry out more than 1,700 rounds of camps facilities, centers, activities for young children, camps, work camps and family camps, with activities of diverse themes and under the common motto ‘Let’s make a better world possible’. These activities include the ‘Preparing for the future’ camps with the support of the Cellnex Foundation; the adventure and nature camps facilities and the environmental volunteer camps of El Periódico and Fundesplai; the Campus of Journalism of the newspaper Ara and Fundesplai (now in its 5th edition) or the camps in English.
This year, the forecast is to exceed the figures of 2021, offering 10,000 more places and, in this way, reach 80,000 throughout the summer. In addition, Fundesplai has already awarded thousands of scholarships so that children and young people do not miss out on summer activities, since the objective is to increase the number of grants by 25%.
In order to achieve this goal, Fundesplai has been carrying out the solidarity campaign ‘A summer for everyone!’ for more than a decade with the aim of raising funds and being able to award scholarships to families who are in vulnerable situations.
