Wednesday, February 2 at Llars Mundet (Barcelona) within the framework of the 17th Congress on Comparative Education organized by the UB and the UAB.
Fundesplai organizes the symposium “Where is education headed in leisure time?” which will take place on Wednesday, February 2, within the framework of the 17th National Congress of Comparative Education organized by the University of Barcelona and the Autonomous University of Barcelona. The conference will be held at the Llars Mundet site of the University of Barcelona between 2:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Culture, education, school and learning are key concepts present in what we understand today as “leisure education”. There are many educational actors and agents involved who increasingly point out and claim the identity of the sector and its contribution to the educational success and transformative development of the local communities where they are present.
The symposium aims to be a space to talk about the current moment, challenges and opportunities of education in leisure time.
We will have the experience of:
- “The right to educational leisure and equal opportunities for children”. Maria Jesús Larios Paterna, Deputy Ombudsman of Catalonia.
- “Free-time education centers, nodes of dynamization in the territory for educational success and social commitment”. Mariona Graell Martín, International University of Catalonia, and Glòria Pedró Villarino, Fundesplai.
- “Challenges and opportunities to advance towards a diverse educational ecosystem”. Pilar Gargallo, Federation of Movements for Pedagogical Renewal of Catalonia (FMRPC).
- “Forum Committed Youth. A networked socio-educational experience to promote social action and commitment”. Laura Granados, Esplai Foundation.
