In March 2016 , Fundesplai launched Oportunidad Joven by offering unemployed young people registered in the SOC to 18 to 29 years of age a process of guidance, training and acquisition of skills and professional experiences, among others, in the field of cooking and hospitality.

In March 2016 Fundesplai launched Youth Opportunity, offering youngpeople aged 18 to 29 years unemployed registered in the SOC, a process of guidance, training and acquisition of skills and professional experiences, among others, in the field of cooking and hospitality. Young people had to meet the requirements of the Youth Guarantee program.
From March until now (4 months in total), the young participants of the Youth Opportunity proposal have strived every day, with accompaniment and with various proposals for the improvement of their professional and work opportunities.
This Wednesday, June 22, the young people of the courses of Basic Kitchen Operations and Basic Operations of Restaurant Bar participated in the closing that took place in Centre Esplai.
Employment
Of the total number of young participants in the closing, 13 are from the Basic Kitchen Operations group, of this group 2 young people are from Prat de Llobregat, 4 are from Barcelona, 4 from Cornellà de Llobregat, from Sant Boi de Llobregat, 1 from L’Hospitalet de Llobregat. A total of three have already found work and the rest are in the process of employability.
The group of young people from Basic Restaurant Operations is made up of 14 young people and is made up of 7 young people from Barcelona, 4 from L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, 1 from Badalona, 1 from Sant Feliu de Llobregat and 1 from Sant Just Desvern. A total of four have already found work and the rest are in the process of employability.
During the training and accompaniment process, the young people have been able to visit the Hotel Barceló Sants (Barcelona) and one of the restaurants of the Andilana chain (Baltazhar, also in Barcelona), making an approach to the world of work to which they want to access, and where now, they are closer than in March.
Internships in companies
The two groups now begin a new stage: their internship processes in companies, with the accompaniment of Fundesplai, with the assigned tutor and until December 31, to guarantee their socio-labor insertion as much as possible.

Thank Fundesplai for giving us this opportunity and for the space, we are privileged to have been able to do this training that I recommend to everyone. Thank you above all to those who have accompanied us during this process, our trainer David and our tutor Carlos. In the Valley too. We hope that next year it will be repeated again because there have been many young people who have stayed at the doors. Thanks to the SOC and the European Social Fund. And thank you also to those of you who have come to enjoy this party.”
However, a total of 7 young people from both groups are participating in the Fundesplai Social Mentoring program, where they have a volunteer assigned mentor from May to 6 months.
