Last Saturday, May 21, PINCAT (Children’s Platform of Catalonia), brought together for the second time children and young people who have a lot to say about governance in their entities. 50 boys and girls from caus, esplais and CRAES met at the Cau de Tiana to continue reflecting on the value of participation and exchange ideas about the projects he has undertaken in his centers.
From the Federació Catalana de l’Esplai, three esplais participate actively:CEIJ Mowgli, Grup d’Esplai Espurnes and CE Pubilla Cases – Can Vidalet. Unlike the first meeting in November, young people have been the real protagonists. They have taken on organizational tasks and have conducted different spaces. All the groups presented their proposals and asked their fellow listeners for ideas on those issues where they were stuck.
Thus, the Splash Sparks, with its Patis, they explained that they want to arrange the playgrounds so that everyone feels comfortable and also open it to the neighborhood. To do this, they have designed a participatory project where everyone, children, educators and families can express their opinion. What worries them most is how to reach young children and that they can have their say. Also how to make patios a space for experimentation, fun and rest, avoiding the traditional idea of parks.
On the other hand l’esplai Pubilla Cases – Can Vidalet presented their participation project to the board of directors of l’esplai. A very important advance that gives the children and young people of the entity decision-making power and the possibility of participating in the different commissions in which the center is organized. These young people were also concerned about the participation of the little ones and how to pick up their voice.
