On May 15, the Volunteer activity to improve the environment of the floodable area of the reservoir of the reservoir was carried out on the banks of the Sau reservoir, in the surroundings of the Can Mateu estate, organized by Fundesplai. The activity had the participation of several families who at the end of the week were staying in the houses of colonies of Fundesplai on the farm.
In total they took part 25 people, of whom were 11 adults and 14 children. The direct dissemination reached a total of 121 people. Can Mateu is an 11-hectare estate owned by Fundesplai and includes a Nature School.
This floodable zone, which is part of the reservoir, is a very frequented space and subject to the fluctuations of the river level, so it presents periodic accumulations especially of plant remains. The area is also an important refuge and nesting area for birds typical of wetlands and riverside forests. It presents at the same time excellent views of the Cingles de Tavertet, with an extraordinary landscape and geological value.
