Since January 2016, Fundesplai has been managing and promoting the Mont-jove youth service and equipment in the municipality of Santa Margarida de Montbui (Barcelona) of Santa Margarida de Montbui Town Council. The objective of Fundesplai is that this equipment becomes a meeting and reference space for young people in the municipality between 12 and 17 years old, located in the center of it. It is open from Monday to Friday from 5pm to 8pm.
The Mont-Jove youth facility wants to be a preventive, versatile, integrating and free access service, to provide an educational and social response to young people in the municipality, with very diverse profiles and characteristics. The recreational, training, social and cultural activities that they will develop will allow the revitalization of the equipment, carry out an educational intervention both individually and in groups.
In order to achieve the objectives and challenges, a project model is proposed for Mont-Jove that helps support, advise and accompany young people, and that this space is consolidated in the municipality as a place of reference in educational leisure activities, and through actions in the territory, in networking and community. A key factor is coordination with the different educational, social, cultural and youth agents, to respond to the current needs of the group of adolescents and young people of Santa Margarida de Montbui.
