Fundesplai has presented the campaign “Get Summer right – A summer for everyone”. The double  motto responds to the objectives of offering children, young people and families a wide range of activities for this summer and, at the same time, ensuring that no child is left out of the camps during the school holidays. The campaign also includes the Solidarity Gymkhana, a recreational team event to raise funds for scholarships for summer camps and camps.
This year Fundesplai offers more than 1.000 activities  For children and young people from 3 to 25 years old, between camps, camps, routes and work camps and camps for families, with a total of 60,000 places. This represents an increase in the 5%  compared to last summer.
To guarantee equity, Fundesplai plans to grant more than 4,500 fellowships in 2015, four times the number of grants awarded in 2010, the year the campaign began. According to Josep Gassó, president of Fundesplai, “We do not want the camps to be a luxury and that is why  we must mobilize society to guarantee the right to leisure for all children”.
 
A joint effort
In order to award these scholarships, Fundesplai has the funds contributed by the Diputació de Barcelona and the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality, through 0.7% for social purposes and some companies such as Grífols. As in previous years, the contribution of the Generalitat de Catalunya is also foreseen. In addition to these funds for scholarships and grants channelled directly by Fundesplai, some of the 81 participating leisure centres also receive aid from their town councils or from the “la Caixa” Foundation’s Obra Social through the ProInfancia programme.  The set, last year was allocated to scholarships and grants about one million euros.
However, in order to respond to the growing needs, Fundesplai calls on individuals, companies and entities to collaborate by making contributions through thewww.fundesplai.org/dóna website  .
 
3rd Summer Charity Gymkhana
Fundesplai also promotes the  Summer Charity Gymkhana. It is a team competition game, open to everyone, which aims  to raise funds for scholarships for camps and camps. Participating is very easy: all you have to do is enter the Fundesplai.org website and register.  Last year 30 groups participated and raised 35,000 euros. This year the goal is to reach 45 groups, to reach 50,000 euros.
 
Maintain prices and self-financing system
Fundesplai has paid special attention to Maintain the pricesof the activities organized directly or from the esplais that, being non-profit entities, are already very tight and stand at an average of € 85 for a summer camp,  € 200-300 for a one-week camp and € 230 for work camps. A whole week in August for a family of two adults and two children under 16, costs € 556, all inclusive.
In addition, Fundesplai also offers A self-financing  systemof the activities. The procedure is very simple: at the time of formalizing the registration for a summer activity, families are given a voucher book for a raffle in which up to 150 stays of a weekend for four people will be raffled in a holiday home of the Fundesplai. The cheque books will have tickets with a sale value equal to the cost of the activity. In this way, the child will be able to sell the tickets among their environment and thus self-finance up to 100% of the cost of the activity.  This system, in addition to promoting equity, also has an educational function, since it allows children to be involved and co-responsible for financing activities.
 
Next May 10, Festa Esplai at Parc Nou del Prat de Llobregat
The campaign “Get the summer right-A summer for everyone!” will have its maximum echo at the29th Festa Esplai, the  great annual celebration of Fundesplai that will be held next Sunday, May 10 at the Parc Nou del Prat de Llobregat.
The Festa Esplai will offer, between 11 a.m. and 5.30 p.m., more than 50 activities for the whole family. It will also include, at 2 p.m.,  the grand main event of “botaxlainfancia”, the Fundesplai campaign that invites  everyone to  take a photo bouncing and post it on social networks with the hashtag #botaxlainfancia. Each bot is a cry for rights and equal opportunities for children, but, in addition, each bot is € 1 contributed by the collaborating companies that will be destined to children at risk. As of mid-April, nearly 10,000 “bots” have been achieved.
