Ahead of the municipal elections of 24 May 2015, we propose to political parties that local policies make childhood a priority. Because investing in children is fair, necessary and urgent.
The crisis has had a special impact on children. In Catalonia, children’s rights are not guaranteed for all children. Therefore, since January, Fundesplai Promote the campaign #botaxlainfanciawhich aims to raise awareness, mobilise and attract support and funds for children at risk.
Ahead of the municipal elections on 24 May 2015, we propose that local policies make childhood a priority. Because investing in children is fair, necessary and urgent. That is why we are directing proposals to political parties so that they can apply them in their policies and to citizens a message so that those parties that incorporate them in their electoral programs can vote.
From Fundesplai we ask political parties to commit to:
- Guaranteeing citizenship and children’s rights
- Invest in childhood
- Opting for the children’s education strategy
- Generate alliances around childhood
- Prioritizing childhood
And we do it with fourteen proposals grouped around three ideas:
- Local politics through the eyes of a child
- Ensuring equity and quality in education
- Recognition and support for recreation and educational leisure
