Next Saturday, February 28, the territorial tests (Girona, Tarragona, Lleida and Barcelona) of the 8th Interscholastic English Contest of Catalonia ” The Fonix 2015″ will take place, organized by the International House, Fundesplai (Fundació Catalana de l’Esplai) and the General Secretariat of Educational Policies of the Department of Education of the Generalitat de Catalunya.
Next Saturday, February 28, the territorial tests (Girona, Tarragona, Lleida and Barcelona) of the8th Interscholastic English Contest of Catalonia “The Fonix 2015″ will take place, organized by the International House, Fundesplai (Fundació Catalana de l’Esplai ) and the General Secretariat of Educational Policies of the Department of Education of the Generalitat de Catalunya.
From this phase, in which the contestants will have to perform written exercises on a topic, a total of 112 candidates will be selected to participate in the final test, which will be on April 25.
“The Fonix” is a contest aimed at students from 5th and 6th grade of Primary, from 1st to 4th of ESO and 1st and 2nd of Bachillerato, as well as parallel levels in Intermediate and Higher Degree Training Cycles of any public, private and concerted educational center based in Catalonia. One of its basic objectives is the dissemination of the use of English among schoolchildren, taking into account the enormous and growing importance of this language in all areas of today’s society.
