On November 8th at the Palau Macaya in Barcelona, the mentoring team of the Tresca Jove project of Fundesplai and Tresca Europe of Fundación Esplai, funded by the philanthropic organization Stavros Niarchos Foundation, participated in the first European Meeting of Social Mentoring. This conference was organized by the Mentoring for Inclusion Coordinator.
In this event, different topics were discussed related to the role of mentors in different social inclusion projects with different groups, and how it takes social value to involve part of society in accompanying people in the different life processes.
Space for the exchange of experiences
The day was a space for participation organized from workshops of interest to the mentors and professionals who coordinate the projects and spaces for the exchange of experiences.
The main topics discussed were links and identities, communication skills, key employability skills, socio-educational intervention tools with adolescents and training of mentors.
The technical team of the Tresca Jove project and Tresca Europe of Fundesplai, together with the team of mentors linked to the projects, highlighted the value of conferences like this where they can talk openly, train and share experiences around work proposals with an eye towards accompanying people in the process of social and labor inclusion. They also had the opportunity to share our project with other entities and people.
