The president of La Liga, Alejandra Solla, director of Fundación SES (Argentina), and the vice-president, Nuria Valls, deputy director of Fundesplai (Catalonia), participated inthe Ibero-American Civic Meeting in Mexico City on 7 and 8 October.
The president of La Liga, Alejandra Solla, director of Fundación SES (Argentina), and the vice-president, Nuria Valls, deputy director of Fundesplai (Catalonia), participated in the Ibero-American Civic Meeting in Mexico City on 7 and 8 October. with the theme “Social innovations in Education and Culture”. Alejandra Solla presided over the opening table of the event.
One of the central novelties of the 2014 meeting was the change of leadership in the Ibero-American General Secretariat (SEGIB):Rebeca Grynspan is the new Secretary General replacing Enrique Iglesias, a challenge for this body formed around the Ibero-American Summits which wants to be renewed as politics and high-level economy are renewed.
The “Encuentro Civico” is the space for political advocacy of Social Organizations at Latin American level where the networks of entities of organized Civil Society are located, to generate political influence from a declaration of principles this year you can find here the document generated in 2014.
This document is elevated to the Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government. In 2014 it is scheduled to be held in the city of Veracruz, Mexico on 8 and 9 December 2014.
La Liga Delegate Committee
On the other hand, the Delegate Committee of the Board of Directors of La Liga met in Guatemala, on October 9, 10 and 11, at the headquarters of Fe y Alegría Guatemala, in order to consolidate the work strategies that facilitate the participation of most of the associated organizations, in total 30 organizations, of 18 countries, in the Assembly of La Liga Iberoamericana, scheduled for May 2015.
The assembly of associates is a key space for democratic participation; by the territorial configuration of the network itself. La Liga is essential to strengthen its own territorial work, hence the importance of the meeting of the Delegate Committee.
The meeting strengthened the La Liga Work Plan and had the following participants:
