The European Telecentre Multimedia Academy project and the reference centre in Spain, which will be in Oviedo and promoted by the City Council of Oviedo and Fundación Esplai, is already underway.The TMA is a European project that seeks to train adults in skills to use multimedia resources based on information and communication technologies and is promoting the creation of reference training centers in different European countries. In Spain, it will be in Oviedo. The City Council of Oviedo will be in charge of coordinating this center and Fundación Esplai has trained the facilitators and has provided the multimedia material.
Multimedia resources
After having received more than seven proposals from telecentres interested in participating in the pilot test of the project, the centre that will be responsible for training in multimedia issues is Oviedo City Council is starting to operate.
For the choice of the most suitable center to carry out the basic level multimedia courses, a series of criteria have been taken into account, among which are: the profile of the professionals who will develop the training, the language barrier, the training offer carried out so far in multimedia topics, the work capacity of the chosen entity and the use that will be given to the training material offered as well as material resources offered.
