The hostel and nature school of Viladoms de Baix (Castellbel i el Vilar), of the Fundació Catalana del Esplai, has received a special mention in the building category at the 14th edition of the Construmat Awards 2011, which were awarded on Thursday, May 19 in Barcelona. A total of 129 works were submitted in this category. The jury has recognized with this award the landscape integration of this installation in the natural environment, as well as its innovative design and the use of simple materials that have favored a cost reduction and “its visual power”. This award recognizes the work of the promoter, Fundació Catalana del Esplai; the construction team, ACES – Asesoramiento y Construcciones de Equipamientos Sostenibles; and the technical team, Carlos Ferrater, Núria Ayala and Alexandre Pararols. Inaugurated on April 9 The integral reform of the Viladoms de Baix nature shelter-school was inaugurated on April 19, in a ceremony attended by, among others, Josep Gassó, president of the Fundació Catalana del Esplai; Carles Ferrater and Núria Ayala, architects of the OAB office; Agustí Navalles, mayor of Castellbell i el Vilar; Salvador Obiols, director of Services of the Catalan Youth Agency; Josep Enric Llebot, secretary of Environment and Sustainability of the Generalitat de Catalunya, as well as other representatives of the Foundation, the public administration and the educational world. The 2011 Construmat Award went to the industrialized housing, located in Muñogalindo (Ávila), named Garoza 10.1, promoted by Rafael Celda, built by IDM Sistemas Modulares, and with the architects Juan Herreros, Verónica Meléndez and Ramón Paradinas. |
