On the occasion of the celebration  of World Environmental Education Day<\/a><\/strong>, the EUKI <\/strong>  project “Parem Taula pel Clima<\/strong>” organizes the conference “School agroecology: realities, challenges and perspectives”.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The meeting will  feature the participation of  Montse Escutia, agricultural engineer specialized in organic <\/strong> farming and coordinator of the training activities of the Vida Sana Association<\/a><\/strong>; and Germ\u00e1n Llerena, environmental educator of the Environment Area of the City Council of Sant Cugat (Barcelona).<\/strong> Both are authors of several reference publications on agroecology within the school environment.<\/p>\n

The key points that will be discussed will be the New approaches to school agroecology as an educational<\/strong>  proposal\u2013considering the main challenges around the transformation of the  school food system\u2013 and based on Real projects and experiences in schools<\/strong>. The importance of the Contact with local farmers<\/strong>, why do it and how to take advantage of it, from the same school garden.<\/p>\n

School agroecology, understood as a field of educational research and action, promotes the participation of children and young people<\/strong> in the transformation of the  school food system<\/strong>, taking into account its different areas (production, transformation, commercialization\/exchange, consumption and waste management).<\/strong><\/p>\n
